Blackpool is a popular seaside resort sited on the English North West coast, which is amazingly popular with visitors traveling from the nearby towns and cities which include Warrington, Liverpool, Warrington and more. The town is also deeply popular with Scottish visitors who appear in large groups rather like the hordes of factory workers of the past on their company vacation. Occasionally it seems as though Blackpool is awash with guest houses and tourist attractions and although there is an incredibly amount of Blackpool bed & breakfasts it is advisable to book ahead to avoid upset. Hotels varies from cheaper lodgings to the totally luxurious. You will find many on the sea front but, if you would prefer stay somewhere more peaceful you will find some further inland.
Blackpool first started getting visitors in the eighteenth century who had visited to enjoy the new fashion of sea bathing. With the advent of the railway, from 1846, the resort experienced more folk arriving to, as it was called, “take the cure”. Nowadays you can get to Blackpool by train, car or aeroplane arriving there much faster than the early Victorian folk who would take up to 48 hrs from Manchester.
About Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The most popular attraction in Blackpool, in Lancashire on the north west coast of England, which manages to receive about seven million visitors every twelve months, is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The Pleasure Beach is a sprawling funfair with terrifying big rides, for example Ice Blast, Valhalla, Grand National, the Big One, Wild Mouse and Zipper Dipper, as well as many more children’s rides, thrill rides, roller coasters, sideshows, sidestalls and games. The latest big thrill is Infusion, the world’s first to feature a suspended looping coaster all of it being over water.
Please note: If you are traveling as a group of folk it is possible to save a substantial amount of cash by purchasing an unlimited ride wristband especially if you will be going on many rides as the individual cost of each ride soon begins to hurt.
Getting To Blackpool And B&B Accommodation
As said earlier, Blackpool is very easy to get to these days as it is possible to get to the resort by air, automobile or railway. If arriving by train you will, most likely, be using Blackpool’s main station, Blackpool North found on Talbot Road. Just a short distance further down Talbot Road is where you will find Blackpool National Express Coach Station, Blackpool’s main bus and coach station. The other Blackpool train station, Blackpool South, is at Waterloo Road, which is closer to the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool’s airport is situated some two miles from the centre of town and was known as, Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, one of the UK’s oldest airports.
Bed & breakfast accommodation in Blackpool is often available cheaply. Accommodation is frequently cheaper in the off season and not such a bargain on weekends. Hotels in Blackpool are at their most costly while the Illuminations are on, which is really the resort’s peak season.
A handy tip to remember: Some guest houses and hotels can be rather noisy especially those situated between North Pier and Central Pier. If you would rather somewhere less noisy try booking accommodation beyond the North Pier.
