Companies are not happy of the effects of the world recession. Some businesses are laying workers off because of a lot of close downs. Retrenchment is seen her and there. Experts say it will take time for big economies to recover from the reccession. The current recession does not bother one industry. The London hotel industry it is. Has there been any positive and negative impact on the Hotel industry? The article has been written only on the Hotels and bed and breakfast industry in London.
The Hotel industry in London do not seem to be negatively affected by the reccession yet from research. I have been in the hotel agency business for quite sometime now and have been making reservations across London from budget to 5 star luxury properties properties. There has not been a slow down since I started my research. Hotels to date continue to be busy.
Those hotels on our portal have access to the system to close out dates they are full or near to full capacity. With this economic crisis, one wonders how hotels get full up weekdays and every weekend
.
The hotels industry in London experienced increase in revenue in 2008 especially between March and July which was the peak period. There were almost full up everyday. London hotels get filled up quickly and we do not even for a lot of times get rooms to book for clients on the system because hotels have closed out dates. Some dates ahead are already full up in many of the hotels in London. Supply of rooms in some hotels run out and they themselves look for rooms somewhere else for their guests. As hotels are logging onto our system to close out dates, we are not able to get rooms to book for our clients.
As the exchange rate of the pound to the other currencies has gone down, travellers may be feel that they stand to get more value for their money when they shop or spend their holidays in London. In view of that hotels still get full up because more travellers come in. However, the Pound was strong in some part of the past year. It was even stronger than many of the major currencies. Is it the importance of London or its popularity that has made it imperative for people to visit regardless of the situation? If in the near future the article will have to be rewritten due to more findings, I will not hesitate to do so. London Hotels will offer lower rates to travellers if the economic crisis spread to their industry. This is because they will be guaranteed special London hotel offers, cheap London hotels accommodation and also cheap London bed and breakfast rates. The Tavistock hotel London is an example of such hotels.
